Gonzo Ramen is the best ramen spot in North County and one of my all-time favorite ramen spots. I got the Gonzo Black and the broth was perfection: garlicky, smokey and rich. The highlight for me was the chashu; it had the perfect amount of fat and was so thick, tender, and juicy. I can’t recommend Gonzo enough.

I’m obsessed with Black Garlic Oil Ramen and BESHOCK satisfied my craving. The broth was super flavorful and I recommend adding chili oil. The ramen egg was cooked perfectly and the chashu was so tender and delicious. Overall, I highly recommend!

Marufuku is my favorite ramen place in the Bay Area and I was ecstatic when I found a location in San Diego! It’s one of my all-time favorite bowls of ramen because of the chashu and noodles. I can’t think of a more flavorful or tender chashu, and I love the thinness of the noodles.

They have a wide variety of ramen to choose from, and I went with the Black Knight because I love black sesame oil. The broth was rich and garlicky and the chashu was fatty and charred to perfection. I also tried the broth for the spicy vegan ramen and it blew me away. I’m definitely coming back here!

This unique and creative broth was a mix of miso, black garlic, and spicy sesame. All the flavors blended so well and the spice complemented the rich black garlic. The highlight of this ramen was their chashu, which was tender and perfectly marinated.

I enjoyed eating at Ten Gu Ramen in Oceanside. My favorite part of the Spicy Miso Ramen was the broth, which was definitely spicy and full of flavor. I loved the noodles and egg while the meat was standard.

I usually get Tonkotsu Ramen, so it was nice to mix things up and get a Shoyu. It was pretty good, but I still prefer Tonkotsu. I recommend the spice bomb to enhance the flavor of the broth. Plus, they gave a surplus of noodles!

Kokage Sushi & Ramen is a good Japanese restaurant in Vista. The highlight of the Spicy Tonkotsu Miso Ramen was their runny egg—cooked to perfection. The spice level on the broth was great but the noodles or chashu didn’t stand out.
