This Shrimp Scampi plate took me to Flavor Town. If you’re a garlic and shrimp lover, this is definitely for you. And I could’ve taken 10 orders of that rice home — best rice I’ve ever had (and I’ve had lots of rice in my day). I also loved the hot sauce on the side, but it’s not super necessary because the shrimp is already so flavorful.

I highly recommend Liliha Bakery for brunch (or any meal of the day) and pastries, desserts, and malasadas afterwards! This was the best Loco Moco I’ve ever had and one of my favorite dishes during the trip. Each component was cooked perfectly and came together so beautifully. I loved the flavorfulness of the gravy and the tenderness of the meat. You must order this with fried rice because it truly elevated the dish. And who doesn’t love bacon in fried rice?

This was one of the best, freshest ahi tuna I’ve ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed the texture and the fish basically melted in your mouth. Plus, the flavors of the Shoyu Ahi were incredible!

My favorite was the Kalua Pig Quesadilla because I couldn’t get enough of the meat! Plus, it was my first time trying an Ube tortilla. The Ube flavor was pretty faint and overshadowed by the meat. The Volcano Hot Wings were good and surprisingly not too spicy. They could’ve been saucier though. My least favorite was the Coconut Shrimp because it was just a simple, standard appetizer.

Island Vintage Coffee is a great brunch spot if you’re looking for more American options and great açaí bowls. I enjoyed my simple yet delicious Chicken Pesto Panini. The chicken, bacon, avocado, and pesto came together nicely and was a good hearty and filling meal before my flight.
