My favorite meal in Budapest, and honestly one of my favorites on the trip, was at Kis Bangla, an Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant. This was one of the best Chicken Tikka Masala I’ve ever had. It was incredibly creamy and flavorful — sweet, savory, and spicy. I liked how they drizzled a bit of cream on top. The chicken was tender and juicy and they even added veggies, which I had been craving during my time in Europe. Their Garlic Naan paired so well with the curries and added even more flavor. This exceeded my expectations and has risen to the top of my list for Indian food. Highly, highly recommend a meal here if you’re in Budapest.

I ordered roast pork with dark beer gravy, potato dumpling, and sauerkraut—a Bavarian specialty. This was one of the most delicious meals on the trip! The highlight was the very crispy and flavorful skin. The gravy was also so rich and savory while the acidity of the sauerkraut balanced all the flavors. The pork, sauerkraut, potato dumpling, and gravy made an excellent combination. Augustiner also brews some of the best Weissbeer in Bavaria. Highly recommend!

We ended our time in Prague with an amazing meal at Hoxton Burgers. I ordered the Hoxton, their most popular burger that came with bacon, pickled relish sauce, and the classic fix-ins. Wow, this was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. As soon as I pressed down on the burger, juices oozed out. The patty was cooked to a perfect medium rare and each bite was glorious. They also have amazing vegan burgers! I loved their Truffle Mushroom one. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a delicious burger in Prague!

Shoyu Ramen is a great ramen spot in Vienna! I ordered the Shoyu Classic, which was a good change for me because I usually go for a Tonkotsu. I loved the broth, especially with chili oil/flakes. My favorite component was the chashu. Even though they were thin slices, they were very flavorful. If you’re craving ramen in Vienna, you should check this spot out!

I had an excellent Pho Bo Tai from Pho Vietnam Anglica. The loaded this bowl with medium rare beef and it was very tender. The broth was very flavorful and elevated with lime and sriracha. This was such a comforting and delicious meal. Highly recommend!

I had a Crispy Korean Chili Chicken Rice Bowl at KitchA - Sticks & Rolls, a pan-Asian restaurant. This was a lunch special that came with a side salad and apples. It was a simple yet delicious and filling meal! I loved the flavor of the gochujang sauce but the chicken could’ve been crispier. I’d recommend if you’re looking for a bang for your buck meal in Vienna!

Vienna Sausage is a staple in Vienna and sausage stands are scattered throughout the city. I tried a Kasekrainer Hot Dog at Wurstelstand zum Hohen Markt. This was their most popular sausage! I’m not a big fan of hot dogs but really enjoyed this one. The sausage was snappy, grilled well, and very flavorful. It was filled with just the right amount of cheese, too. The bun was way better than a typical American hot dog bun. It was like a baguette, which was crunchy and baked very well. Highly recommend this spot or any other sausage stand while in Vienna!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Langos with Cheese at Molnaro Langos. This Hungarian specialty is like a donut that can be served sweet or savory depending on the toppings you choose. We kept it simple and just went with cheese but could’ve added sour cream, bacon, onions, etc. I’m glad we went with one topping because the Langos itself was the star. It was so crispy on the outside and fluffy and a little airy on the inside—like the perfect doughnut. Adding chili flakes elevated the dish even more. I highly recommend if you’re looking for an authentic Hungarian dish in Budapest!

I enjoyed the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen at Wafu Ramen Bar in Budapest. We customized the ramen to our liking (spice level, amount of garlic, noodle type, toppings, etc). I was very satisfied with all my selections—it was better than some ramen that I’ve had in the States! I liked how they torched the chashu because it had some crispy edges, but I would’ve preferred thicker slices and more fat. The broth was flavorful, especially with the chili paste. My favorite component was the egg, which was marinated very well. I’d recommend if you’re craving ramen in Budapest!

Prague had several Indian restaurants so we checked out Namaste India. I enjoyed their Butter Chicken—it was creamy and had nice flavor. I wish they asked to make it spicier because it was a little too sweet, even for my sweet tooth.

I ordered Pad Thai at PadThai WokBar and loved the amount of chicken, veggies, and toppings; it was a filling meal! I wished there was more sauce or that the sauce had more flavor. I actually preferred the Tom Yum Soup because it was more flavorful and spicier. I’d consider other Thai restaurants in Budapest because there are a lot to choose from, but this spot was still worth trying.

We concluded our European adventure with a day trip to Lake Eibsee to see the German Alps. We ate at seeRestaurant-EIBSEE Pavillon, which had a gorgeous view of the lake and the Alps. I had a Flammkuchen, a flatbread with bacon, sour cream, and chives. It was a simple, yet delicious meal! I loved the crispiness of the flatbread and the sour cream wasn’t overwhelming at all. This was a great bang for your buck meal because the other dishes can be quite pricey.

I had one of the best cookies in my life at Cookie Beacon in Budapest. We found this place on a whim and were intrigued by these dome-shaped cookies. We got a classic chocolate chip cookie and it was incredible. I loved the mix of milk and dark chocolate chips—it makes such a great chocolate chip cookie. The gooey center was irresistible. 10/10 and highly, highly recommend if you’re ever in Budapest.

Cafe IPPA in Prague serves up the most delicious pastries and desserts. I had one of the best chocolate croissants in my life here. It was so flaky and buttery—it didn’t even need the chocolate! But the chocolate filling was exceptional. It was smooth, rich, and decadent—unlike any chocolate croissant I’ve ever had. I also enjoyed Vetrnik, a Czech dessert with caramel cookies and a sweet filling. Highly recommend this spot!

My favorite Chimney Cake was at Gelateria Pichler, where we also got to sample their gelato. I like that the outside was coated with sugar—simple, yet delicious. I loved the flavor of the dough and it was nice and fluffy. The gelato was great, too. The dark chocolate was rich while the vanilla balanced it well. It was creamy and even better than some gelato in the States and Italy!

I tried a Hungarian pastry called Kakaos Csiga at Felegy Hazi. It was like a spiral chocolate croissant and I really enjoyed it, particularly its crispiness and flakiness, and of course, the chocolate.

I had an Apple Strudel from Anker, a bakery chain in Vienna. This was a great breakfast pastry that reminded me of an apple pie! I’d recommend trying strudel and Anker while visiting Vienna.

After trying a savory Langos, we had to try a sweet one as well. The Pistachio Dream at Eat a Langos was a great dessert Langos! We developed a love for pistachio cream in Athens and were happy to find it in Budapest. They drizzled it with chocolate sauce and topped it with crushed pistachios. The Langos could’ve been fluffier and more airy. The toppings were great though. Overall, it wasn’t my favorite Langos but a very satisfying dessert!
